Achieve Your Summer Body with CoolSculpting

The day has finally come where you can treat your way to transformation and learn to love and embrace your curves.

Feeling self-conscious about some part of your body, whether it’s your thighs, stomach, chin, arms, whatever—is completely normal and something most of us experience. Even if you avoid your favorite guilty pleasures and hit the Stairmaster on a regular basis, you might not be able to get rid of stubborn fat pockets in persistent areas. If this is sounding familiar, we have a solution for you! Thanks to a revolutionary technique known as ‘CoolSculpting’, the only FDA-cleared, non-surgical fat-reduction treatment, you can now freeze away those stubborn pockets of fat. The procedure eliminates fat in the following areas: abdomen, flanks/sides, double chin, inner thighs, outer thighs, and upper arms.

So what do we mean by ‘freeze away’? Let’s delve a little deeper into this technology.

How it works

We imagine that the idea of freezing away fat may sound a little strange and unfamiliar to you, but the concept and procedure is rather simple.

The CoolSculpting treatment uses controlled cooling to eliminate the stubborn areas of fat you’re seeking to remove. Dr. Janet Allenby will select the area(s) to be treated, and the CoolSculpting device will be positioned on your body. A gel pad and applicator are applied to the targeted area. Vacuum applicators draw the tissue into the applicator cup. The procedure safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. Treated fat cells are crystalized, then die. Over time, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells, leaving a more sculpted you.

Instead of enduring a surgical procedure to remove fat, such as liposuction, CoolSculpting can eliminate the fat and make you look thinner with no downtime or recovery period, and with a non-invasive procedure.

What it feels like

The experience certainly varies from patient to patient, but generally speaking, the procedure is pleasantly manageable. That being said, and as the name suggests, the procedure can be a little chilly. Though you may feel an intense cooling initially, the feeling typically subsides within 5 to 10 minutes as the area numbs. You may also feel some pulling, tugging, and/or mild pinching from the applicator.

During the procedure, you can relax and multi-task. In our office, we have iPads, a TV, and magazines to keep you occupied and comfortable. The best part? There’s no downtime with CoolSculpting. Following the procedure, you can go about your daily routine with ease!
When will I see results?

Generally, patients start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after their treatment, and will experience the most drastic results after two months. The body is still flushing away fat cells and will continue to do so for four months.

Is CoolSculpting for you?

A common misconception about CoolSculpting is that it’s a way to drastically lose weight, however, that is not the case. CoolSculpting is a way for people to permanently and naturally sculpt stubborn parts of your body that may need a little extra help. The procedure is meant for people who already live healthy and active lives, but cannot seem to get rid of the few inches of stubborn fat in specific areas.

To find out if you are a good candidate for CoolSculpting, book a consultation with Allenby Cosmetic Dermatology, where Dr. Janet Allenby will meet with you during a one-on-one consultation. Dr. Allenby will take the time to discuss a holistic approach to your goals for reshaping your body, and will determine whether or not you are an ideal candidate. Since every body is different, Dr. Allenby will work with you on a customized treatment plan tailored to your needs.
