It’s time to clean out the cobwebs, the dust bunnies and make room for new things. It’s advisable to do a seasonal dump out of all items that have collected static appearances and are no longer needed. After all, if they have accumulated a border of non-movement, it’s not of grand importance, high priority nor a focus of time passed.

As I clean out my closets every season to continue my state of living as a minimalist, I also review certain aspects of business. What projects are no longer serving the greater good? What campaigns are no longer of interest according to the goals? What activities no longer connect to the higher purpose of the vision?

Here are some tips to help you clean out your business and get it ready for a new batch of clarity, realignment and concise steps to your future.

1. PROJECTS: We all have projects we dream about pursuing and accomplishments as a result. Perhaps its an innovative app, another language to conquer, or a new social media platform for engagement. Whatever the project is, if you haven’t done it yet, ask yourself these two questions; Do you really want to take on this project now? How does it truly connect to your big business vision? If you hesitate, pause and really have to think about your response, toss it in the “maybe” pile. Just like that shirt you purchased that you absolutely love, rip the tag off and put on to walk to the market, when you really want to take on a project, you’ll find a reason and a way. Pause the project for another year and revisit it again. Eliminating the pressure of having that project lingering over your head will make you feel better and open up the space for something that aligns with your today. When we free up the space that is holding guilt and faint reminders of failed launches, our souls soar and creativity increases. Let it go.

2. PROCESSES: My favorite thing during this time is to see how I can make things better. I guess its equivalent to moving your sofa around to see if it can look better with your favorite painting elsewhere in the room. We recently did this at Femfessionals and improved our training process and on-boarding methods. The new changes will make it so that we can launch in more communities at a faster rate. What do you have lingering around in business that you can improve? What improvements can occur that would make it better then it is today? Now is the perfect time to dive deep and see how you can streamline your ways so the path to your vision is more direct and easier to achieve.

3. RECONNECT: As we purge away tasks and get rid of projects that no longer serve us, we can find our way to the strength of our vision. During these moments of reflection and improvement, we are reminded of all the “why’s” for our Business. When you think of the possibilities, what is your “why”? What is your grand purpose through the arms of your business? What is your reason to engage and move forward to the larger role? To reconnect to your goals to serve your vision better, it’s incredibly intoxicating. It reminds you of the goodness in your work, the accomplishments already created and the grandness of tomorrow. Use your new rekindled passion to move you along in grand leaps to create the new steps towards the point of your greatness.

Use the season of spring for a time of reflection, self-discovery and connectivity. Take a break from projects that don’t fit in your today and focus on the action plans to help your tomorrow.
It’s the perfect time for growth. You just need to plant the seeds that are aligned with you.

Thank you so much Violette for this article. All of us can definitely spring clean and have new room for new opportunities. It’s ok to spring clean all of the projects that haven’t been beneficial in our businesses. We all need to make sure that the projects, campaigns and activities are aligned with a purpose. This purpose is aligned with the goals so we can continuously grow.
