If you ask any of my colleagues or good friends about my focusing ability during hard times, they will say I am an extraordinarily focused and driven human. It may seem natural that I maintain my eye on the prize throughout any storm or immense hurdle. It may also seem that success comes easy for me, and that challenges are quests I have never encountered.

I have surpassed incredible journeys and as such my vision for my life has become steel strong. Every difficult moment in my life has brought me the clarity and undivided connection with my future as I envision it to be. Through dealing with a drug addicted mother as a child and adult, I have learned to count on my own intuition and guidance. Through losing a fortune through real estate investments, I have learned to run lean economically and live as a minimalist. Through my divorce and my reconnection with Steve, I have learned unconditional love without societal barriers. As you can see, through the grit of life, our internal drive and our connection to our vision is tested and shaken. It is through the darkest moments in entrepreneurship, I found my vision to be in its purest state and still calling to me as inspiration towards the next step.

My intention today through sharing this piece, is to assist you and your strength in keeping true and strong to your vision.

Here are three ways that I have maintained a clear and decisive view of my vision.

1. YOUR WHY // What is your why? Why did you start your business? Why were you inspired to create? If you have lost track of your why or never really had a why, take a few moments [meditate if you must] and contemplate what made you launch this business? What is your passion? What is your reason?

When I was struggling to see which way was up, I thought of my why, my purpose in business and the reasons why I sacrificed so much to launch. The reflection for my passion redirected my thoughts from the doom and gloom to the bright and sunny future awaiting. This will be your driving force to create a committed hold to your vision.

2. YOUR BENEFIT TO OTHERS // Your Why is most likely [and perhaps it’s required] to be connected to your vision and the impact it will have on others. How will your business benefit others? How will it change their lives for the better? How will it serve them to live life more abundantly and with more joy?

In the moments of wanting to quit and take a 9-5 job, my benefit to others was my recharging reminder to stick it out and keep hold of my vision. If I gave up, what would happen to the thousands of humans I served? I wouldn’t be able to impact them and make their lives better. My impact on others kept me on track with their lives as a road map to get back to my strong vision.

3. YOUR BENEFIT TO YOU // How will your following through with your vision help you and your family? Will you be able to spend more time with them? How does it benefit you directly? Does it allow you flexibility? More happiness in life?

This was the icing on the cake in many ways to wrap up my weakness and pivot into my strength. I can spend time with my children, be a part of their lives in an active way on a daily basis, and can create true balance. The benefit to my family, regardless of the deep risk and sacrifice, steered me and my heart back into the game of entrepreneurship.

Being an entrepreneur, launching a new business, or creating a side business, requires a lot of mindful commitment, patience and a strong sense of vision. I didn’t attend an IVY league school, nor did I work for a big corporation or have anyone to tell me how to do it. I learned along the way, pulled myself out of the depths of anxiety in business, and found my way to my vision. I believe we all have the power to do the same. That includes you.
