BodyMind® Coaching combines bodywork with a structured coaching conversation to address the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of stress and pain to help empower you and move you towards the life you desire. My unique approach to BodyMind® Coaching is actually threefold, as I also incorporate yoga into all of my coaching programs. Where conventional massage therapists are looking for tension in the body and working to release it, I approach tension in the body with curiosity and wonder. What might we learn about the times when your body is alive and moving freely? Additionally, how might we work with those places where you feel tension and stress trapped in the body? How might we bring the body into the conversation when we start talking about stress and more importantly, empowerment? Have you ever had that feeling after a massage that you could conquer the world? How about after a really expansive yoga class? Did you feel like you were capable of dealing with any obstacle that came your way? Did your dreams and goals seem clearer and suddenly within your reach? If only we could hang on to that feeling for a little longer…. What if you could create that feeling within yourself? I discovered that combining coaching with the practice of going inward, either through bodywork or yoga, is a beautiful way to discover the body’s wisdom. It’s in these moments of stillness, that the body will show you what you need to move forward in your life. The answers are already within you. I approach this work from a place of wholeness, meaning I truly believe that no one is “broken”. The thing is—we are more powerful than we can imagine. With that said, discovering that power can often push up against the borders of our comfort zone. Here’s the other thing—you don’t have to do it ALONE! As a Massage Therapist, I listened to my client’s stories of stress, anxiety, worry, fear, sadness, and grief. One of the things I noticed was that my most powerful experiences with my clients happened during belly work. As if, by allowing the muscles in the abdomen to be heard and touched, the emotional component was able to release. Tears would flow and more often than not, they would have no idea where the tears were coming from. The transformation happened when the clients had that “ah hah” moment when they realized that they were carrying all their stress and tension in their belly. What I learned from these moments is that – this is what I want to do with my life. This ‘Body-MindWork’ is where my heart thrives and where my soul blossoms. Coaching Found Me Too After having so many amazing encounters with my clients, I knew in my soul that I wanted to help people by reducing their physical stress AND by bringing their awareness to the habits & patterns in their life that were causing them stress in the first place. I wanted to find a way to address the body and mind as ONE! The universe showed up again by bringing me Laura Wieck, creator of BodyMind® Coaching. Thanks to her, I no longer call myself a Yoga Teacher or a Massage Therapist. I am a COACH that uses the massage and yoga to help people tap into their power and discover a new way to heal themselves.
