A little about Susan:
After working 15 years in the for-profit sector managing training and organizational development for companies such as Merrill Lynch and The Vanguard Group and consulting with Fortune 500 companies as a VP with a leadership training company and think tank, I became an “accidental employee” of a national nonprofit.
There I fell in love with nonprofit service.
I became the organizational change and leadership development expert and leadership coach for Big Brothers Big Sisters’ national headquarters that supported 340+ independent nonprofit affiliates throughout the U.S. For nine years I collaborated with national staff, affiliate leaders and thought leaders in the sector to bring about systems-wide change. And I coached and consulted with hundreds of nonprofit leaders.
Nonprofit service reconnected me with my early roots as a social worker in Child Protective Services where I discovered my passion and gift for working with people in groups. I created and led the Philadelphia Department of Human Service’s first child abuse prevention program [Parent Action Network] which, decades later, still provides parents with parent education and peer support throughout the city.
My certifications and training include executive coaching, nonprofit capacity building, nonprofit board development, leadership and management development and in-person and virtual group facilitation.
